WhatsApp Is facing backlash and users are angry at the new changes in the app, WhatsApp is reportedly bringing back the old Status feature that allowed users to set up a text as their status in their users profiles. However, now the feature — once it is back — will be called “Tagline”.
On Thursday WhatsApp had rolled out a new feature called Status. This adds a tab to the app, similar to the Chat tab, where people can share their photos and videos. At the same time, company removed the old “status” feature that was part of user profile.
A Twitter account — Wabetainfo – that often leaks features from beta versions of the chat apps tweeted that in WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.214.171.124 and for Windows Phone 2.17.82 the Tagline feature has been added, although for now it is hidden. In the Android version too, the feature is expected to make a comeback.
This unnecessary changes that will turn their chat into a social media app just like Shapchat and Instagram. Users did not like the new status but they are also missing old Contacts tab from the main navigation bar. The new Status works very differently and has a different purpose compared to the old one. The company could have easily kept both of them within the app. Now that status is gone. But that is not the point. The point is that good old Status feature was used by WhatsApp users to inform their contacts about something is replaced by unwanted WhatsApp Status Feature.
- The ability to tell your WhatsApp contacts what about your “status” is now gone, replaced by the new WhatsApp Status feature, which won’t let you set a text message as a status and won’t let you keep the “status” for more than 24 hours. now we have to wait and see when WhatsApp will make changes to bring back the old status feature. Bottom line is people want it as simple IM (instant messaging) app not social networking app like in every other app in the market.
